16 Baiga Blues

Voici l'épisode « Baigas » passé. Un joli tatouage qui m'a bloqué 3 semaines et un appareil photo qui lâche le jour où je retrouve de la motricité et que j'arrive juste dans un village Baiga, moment tant attendu. Le destin a son humour que je ne saisis pas toujours. D'actualité !
J'ai néanmoins rencontré quelques Gonds, quelques autres groupes sociaux tatoués et même une brahmane tatouée de motifs Gonds et autres. La hiérarchie des castes et autres groupes sociaux, ses principes et interdits, n'a pas fait oublier certaines vieilles habitudes. Puis le docteur Vijay Chourasia qui a écrit plusieurs livres sur les Baigas a permis la rencontre avec les Baigas dans un de leurs villages, perdu dans une jolie campagne bio où ils reproduisent tant d'un passé éloigné, écolos avant la lettre, en harmonie avec la nature et l'homme. Les Baigas sont plutôt de nature joyeuse, honnête, franche et simple. Et les tribaux, les arriérés de la planète, ce sont eux !
Voici quelques photos arrachées au destin avant d'aller faire réparer mon appareil photo à Raipur, capitale du Chhattisgarh, une laideur urbaine du monde civilisé.

Here we come, the Baiga episode is behind now. A nice tattoo that got me stock in a remote village and a camera that passed away the day I could walk properly again and just when arrived in a Baiga village, a very expected moment. Destiny has a sense of humor that I don't always catch !
Nevertheless I met some Gonds and a few other social groups getting tattooed and even a brahmin lady tattooed with a Gond designs and some various ones on the top. The hierarchy of the cast system, its principles and «do's & dont's», could not stop an old habit. Then the doctor Vijay Chourasia who wrote a few books about Baigas introduced me with the Baigas in one of their villages, lost in a bio and pretty countryside where they reproduce so much of a long past, all-time ecologists, in harmony with the nature and the humans. The Baigas are rather joyful by nature, honest, frank and simple. And the tribals, the so-called «backwards» are these people !
