Orchha plait, et pas qu'à moi …. douze ans plus tard et vingt hôtels supplémentaires (il n'y en avait que 5 voici 12 ans), on y croise un peu plus de groupes, de guides, de shorts et de casquettes Decathlon. Et oui, évidence, quelque chose a changé, pas étonnant après tout, tout change perpétuellement. Ni l'oeil ni le cœur ne le perçoit toujours, mais le changement est en mouvement, à chaque instant et pour l'éternité.
Depuis 12 ans Orchha n'a pas cessé son mouvement, et d'un petit village endormi dans le culte de Ram, posé le long de la rivière Betwa c'est devenu un gros bourg agité. Des armadas de touristes occidentaux et indiens y viennent s'y dépayser, remonter le temps où les seigneurs locaux bâtissaient des temples et des palais admirables pour les dieux ou les vautours. Aujourd'hui le village ne cesse de s'étendre, fait de briques et de broc, de fils électriques anarchiques, le kilomètre qui sépare le village du temple de Laxmi est maintenant parsemé de maisons.
Orchha est néanmoins toujours ce village charmant où il fait bon pratiquer la glandouille active, ma pratique favorite. Une mission par jour fera l'affaire : contempler le paysage posé le long de la rivière Betwa, aller marcher en campagne voir l'arbre séculier, se faire un spectacle de magie, chercher de la peau tatouée ou visiter les monuments historiques aux heures où la tranquillité prévaut. De quoi se sentir bien et méditer sur : la vie est éternelle mais elle se vit au présent.
Et grâce à ce village, je peux exprimer l'étendue de mes connaissances en hindi : Orchha, bahoot accha ! Orchha, très bon

Orchha pleases, and not just to me …. twelve years later and twenty more hotels (they were 5 hotels 12 years back), you can see more and more tourist groups, more guides, and more shorts. Yes, obviously, something has changed, not surprising though, everything changes constantly. Neither the eye nor the heart always realize it, but the change is in mouvement, each second and for eternity.
For the last 12 years, Orchha kept on with the mouvement, and from a tiny village settled by the Betwa river, it became this agitated little urban center. Lots of western and indian touristes step in to come for a change of scenery, to turn back the clock to the time when local rulers were building temples for gods and palaces for vultures. Today the village keeps on growing, made of bricks and anarchic electric wires, and the kilometer that separates the village from the Laxmi temple is sprinkled with houses.
Orchha is nevertheless still a charming place to hang around, to actively chill out, my favorite duty.
One mission a day will do it while staying here : to contemplate the countryside from the Betwa river shores, going for a walk in the surroundings to visit the ancient trees, attending a magic show, looking for some tattooed skins or visiting the ancient monuments in and around. Enough to feel good and to meditate on this : life is eternal but is worth living only when being attached to the present time.
And thanks to this village, I can express my great knowledge of hindi : Orchha, bahoot accha ! Orchha very good

on ouvre a tente afin que les curieux soit incité à venir voir le prochain spectacle.
