30 / Kutch - Bhuj - Mandvi

Tonight I leave Bhuj. I mostly came here to meet my good friend - guide Jeetendra T Solanki. These few days still gave me the opportunities to meet a few members of tattooed communities such as Rabari, Ahir or Harijan. This region would deserve that I stop for a month but the end of the trip is getting close and I start to be tired, especially with this heat. And the heat is going to be even worse in Mumbai for the 4 days I have to spend there. So here are a few pictures of Bhuj and around.

Glad to be back in Bhuj after 5 years away, and to spend some time with my old friend, and probably the best guide

for the Kutch region, mister Jeetendra T Solanki.

You can see in Bhuj this kind of disguised man. They daily dress a different way (doctor, farmer, any any) and the people around give them something or not. These "street comedians" don't have to talk, don't have to beg - Bhuj.

The 2001 earthquake in Bhuj (I was in Bhuj 2 weeks before) left some scares. Sometimes weird, like this building

with a first floor in a total different style. Bhuj.

you could refuse or get only partly the tattooing. She got her hands, throat and feet - Around Bhuj.
